In "The Prince of Tides" (1991), a psychiatrist (Streisand) falls in love with a suicidal patient's equally troubled brother (Nick Nolte). Expertly directed by Streisand herself, the film received seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. And in "The Mirror Has Two Faces" (1996), Streisand not only stars as a plain Jane whose extreme makeover puts a little romance into her marriage to Jeff Bridges, but directed and co-wrote the Oscar-nominated song, "I Finally Found Someone," as well.
