Film Chest presents BLONDE: THE MARILYN STORIES, a new comprehensive compilation that helps to answer some questions of an extraordinary life cut short while eliciting others. Included in this package are two docudrama films with outstanding portrayals of Marilyn and the first ever exploitative biopic released in 1976, originally deemed a questionable release due to its salacious nature.

Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jean Mortenson on June 1, 1926 and lived a brief but remarkable life of 36 years. She fought hard for the fame and recognition that she felt was deserved and then, when success was finally achieved, she was crushed beneath the weight of it. She was a true artist that is unfortunately remembered more for her iconic images and controversial alliances than her extraordinary acting and singing talents.

Much has been written about Norma Jean by many who never knew her. She became world famous under the stage name of "Marilyn Monroe," but her on-screen appearances are in stark contrast to the love issues, exploitation, abuse of power, and drug addiction she faced in her private life. In the years since her death, after thirty movies, three marriages, the first Playboy edition cover shot, and singing to an American president, many books and films have been produced about her place in American pop culture.
