Funny Ha Ha (BLU-RAY)
Marnie is 23 and "wandering the earth," perhaps in search of romance, or employment - or perhaps just avoiding both. Mostly she's just trying to keep her sense of humor as a constellation of friends and would-be lovers engage in their own post-collegiate flailing around her. Rarely have the loose, shaggy rambles of young adulthood felt so alive and uncanny onscreen. Shot on 16mm and originally released in 2002, Funny Ha Ha is a simple film, straightforwardly composed, but its peculiar rhythms and unexpected cross-currents will always reward repeat viewings.
