This film adaptation of August Strindberg's play explores the tragic affair between an aristocratic young woman & her father's valet in 1890s Sweden.

Miss Julie (Saffron Burrows, Deep Blue Sea, Troy) is a young woman of privilege, destined to marry into an affluent family of high standing.
