She recalls her near-impulsive marriage to newspaper reporter Roger Adams (Grant), which begins on a deliriously happy note but turns out to be fraught with tragedy. Penny Serenode is enormously effective, balancing moments of heartbrecking pathos with uproarious laughter. The stellar cast includes Beulah Bondi, Ann Doran and Edgar Buchanan.
